The East Prince Minor Basketball Association (EPMBA) is a non-profit community organization that offers children ages 4 to 15 an opportunity to participate in basketball.  The league is open to children of all skill levels in the East Prince area.  The EPMBA is currently the largest minor basketball program on Prince Edward Island. 

 

Little Tykes:   Ages 4&5 / Pre Kindergarten & Kindergarten (co-ed) - The Little Tykes group plays once per week for one hour.  Boys and girls are introduced to the game of basketball through beginner skills and basketball oriented fun games.  There is a strong emphasis on having FUN!  Participants use Little Tykes Hoops (6 ft hoop height) and a size 3 basketball. Players receive a t-shirt, shorts with the Sting logo.   The program will run from mid October to mid February.
    
Small Ball:   Ages 6&7 / Grades 1&2 (co-ed) - Participants learn the basics of the game with an emphasis on having FUN!  Small Ball participants have a one hour gym time per week where they spend 30 minutes learning / practicing skills and 30 minutes playing games.  We are very excited to offer this Canada Basketball & Steve Nash Foundation sponsored development program to the JSmall Ball participants this year.  Coaches in this division will use the SNYB coaching materials.  Among other things, players will receive a reversible SNYB program practice jersey and basketball.   The program will run from October to March.
  
Junior Mini:  Ages 8&9 / Grades 3&4 (Boys and Girls divisions) - Participants in this group will learn the fundamentals of the game .  Players have two gym times per week where they have one practice and one game day.  Players will also receive a Sting basketball uniform.  The program will run from October to March.
  
Mini:    Ages 10&11 / Grades 5&6 (Boys and Girls divisions) - Participants in the Mini division learn basketball fundamentals building on the skills learned in Junior Mini.  Players have two gym times per week where they will have one practice time and one game day.  Players will receive a Sting basketball uniform and play in a house league where teams will play 1-2 league games per week.  The program will run from October to March.
  
Bantam (fall and winter):     Ages 12&13 / Grades 7&8 - Participants will play in a structured basketball league that will run every Friday evening and Sunday afternoon.  Players will have an opportunity to tune their basketball skills and have some fun before the Intermediate and High School seasons begin. Players will receive a team t-shirt.  The program will run from October until March.
  
   
Midget (fall):  Ages 14&15 / Grades 9&10 - Participants will play in a structured basketball league that will run every Friday evening and Sunday afternoon. Players will have an opportunity to tune their basketball skills and have some fun before the Intermediate and High School seasons begin.
